The Aura Home Design Company has taken the plain closet door and turned it into a style sensation: NUporte Grand Closet Doors.

Not only are the designs of these doors trendsetting, but these are probably the only closet doors that can come home with you in your car. As a matter of fact, they will fit in your trunk. Any trunk.

Each set of nuporte doors is broken down into sections and comes in a box that is 31 inches tall, 39 inches long and 6 inches wide. But these are no lightweights; each box weighs between 60 and 70 pounds, which means that the doors you'll be bringing home are well-built and sturdy.

Every set of nuporte doors comes complete with Stanley hardware and door track. And the company Web site claims that if you can use a tape measure and screwdriver, you're 99 percent there in installing these doors.

Each side has three panels and moves with a top-hung rolling system. They are available in 4-foot, 5-foot or 6-foot widths, and each door is made to fit closet openings of 801/8 inches to 81 inches high.

As for the styles, NUporte doors come in three design series: Country, Cottage and Contemporary.

The Country series doors are raised-panel doors in either a mahogany or walnut finish.

The Cottage series doors have the identical layout with a choice of a smooth or bead board white wood insert.

The Contemporary series gives you a choice of espresso, black, cherry or maple finishes with or without tempered glass inserts.
